Looking for ways to be more active in the ENY ACS? Run for a 2027 officer position! Elections are coming up in November and the ENY ACS has several open positions waiting for someone like you to step up and serve.
Chair 2027: The Chair leads the section with the strong support of the Executive Committee. The Chair attends the National ACS Leadership Institute to learn how the local sections operate, scheduling events, and advice for running a local section. The Chair also has the support of the Past Chair and section Councilors for planning and running the meetings. In 2028 the Chair transitions to the Past Chair and provides guidance to the 2028 Chair. It’s a great experience and great for the resume. 🙂
Education Committee Chair: The Education Committee Chair leads the Education Committee to plan activities that promote the education of chemistry. The section has routinely hosted two students with Project SEED, facilitated the Chemistry Olympiad, and honored High School chemistry teachers.
Social Media Chair: Help the ENY ACS spread the word about its great events by promoting them on popular platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and others!
